ABOUT SUSAN GLASPELL

Susan Glaspell (1876-1948) co-founded the Provincetown Players, and won a Pulitzer Prize for her incredible abilities as a playwright. Trifles is a one-act play based on the murder trial she covered as a young adult. Glaspell is a best-selling author in her own time, although her success was forgotten after her death, until a critical reassessment renewed interest in her work. Trifles is often looked at as one of the greatest works of American theatre.
